1. A cave passage completely filled, now or in the past, with fastmoving water and whose ceiling and walls normally show scallops . 2. The imaginary space formed between two adjacent streamlines in which flow is constant (assuming steady flow conditions). Synonyms: (French.) conduite forcee; (German.) Druckflubrohr; (Greek.) ypoghios siranx; (Italian.) condotta forzata; (Spanish.) tubo (o conducto) freatico; (Turkish.) akarsu mecrasi. See conduit, pressure flow tube.
